2010: The Year of the Sleep

Sean and I have a plan for the next three days. Today we are going to clean out the upstairs office. Saturday we are moving Wesley's room into the office. Sunday we are moving Greta out of our room and into Wesley's old room. She will officially be sleeping in her own room by the end of the weekend. We just can't take it anymore. She has decided that sleeping anymore than an hour and twenty minutes during the night is for the birds. I tell you, she wakes up almost exactly every hour and twenty minutes. It's enough to make a person mad.

For some reason since Christmas this has been happening and I can't seem to put my finger on why. She used to go 4+ hours between wakings. I think it's because she's done with being swaddled. By the third waking every night she's worked her little hand out and will be sucking on it. That's with the swaddling blanket as tight as I can make it. So last night I decided to start weaning her out of the swaddling. I took her little arms and pulled them out at 4 am and swaddled her as usual. She wouldn't go back to sleep at all. She just laid in her crib and whined. Needless to say I'm totally exhausted. I hope by getting her into her own room she can cry it out at least one or two times a night and let her start to put herself back to sleep.
My New Years Resolution? To get some sleep!
